New York fund to invest in the North

THE New York state common retirement fund plans to invest $30 million (€23.20m) in Northern Ireland as part of a private equity programme, New York comptroller Thomas DiNapoli said.

“There are opportunities in Northern Ireland and we intend to take advantage of those opportunities,” Mr DiNapoli said. “Northern Ireland is an emerging market.”

The fund will make its investments in the region in partnership with Washington DC-based PCG International.
