THE 13 titles that comprise the Irish operations of British regional newspaper publisher Johnston Press are now likely to be sold as individual entities rather than one combined asset, as originally expected.

In addition, it is expected that the sale of Johnston’s Irish operations will fetch a little more than €50 million, combined; illustrating the downturn in economic conditions and newspaper and media asset values.

It is thought that while the sale process is ongoing and still far from complete, expressions of interest have been made by former owners/directors of numerous individual titles within the portfolio.
