Tribute paid as Meagher retires

GEOFF MEAGHER is stepping down as deputy group managing director and group finance director of Glanbia on June 30 of this year having reached the retirement age of 60.

Glanbia’s chief executive, John Moloney, paid tribute to Mr Meagher at the group’s presentation of results in Dublin yesterday.

“Geoff has given exceptional service and commitment to Glanbia since he joined what was then the Avonmore Group in 1975,” he said.

Mr Meagher will be retained as a consultant to the group.

Meanwhile, Siobhan Talbot, deputy group finance director of the group since June 2005, will succeed Meagher.

She has been with Glanbia since 1992.
