Kentz wins €27m Saudi development contract

KENTZ, the Irish construction and engineering firm, has been awarded a $35 million (€27.1m) development contract in Saudi Arabia, which will see it oversee the expansion of the industrial districts of the Red Sea port cities of Jubail and Yanbu.

Work is expected to commence before the end of this month and is scheduled to continue for five years. Both cities were designated as new industrial cities by the Saudi government back in the 1970s.

Jubail has since become a major hub for international petrochemical firms operating in the Middle East.
