Providence starts Singleton drilling

PROVIDENCE RESOURCES has announced the commencement of drilling activity at its L99/02-SWD development well at the company’s Singleton Field onshore asset, located on the south coast of England, near Southampton.

The new well will be drilled to a depth of around 14,000 feet and drilling is set to continue for 45 days.

The Dublin-based exploration firm — headed by Tony O’Reilly Jnr — has said that initial tests have shown a potential extra production capacity of 30% on top of the current 500 barrels of oil per day coming from the Singleton site.
