Britvic sales fall 2% to €54m

FOLLOWING last week’s news that 145 jobs will be cut in its Irish division, Britvic said the contribution to group sales from Ireland fell by 2%, on a year-on-year basis, to €53.9m for the three months to the end of December.

The Irish market was “particularly challenging” and suffering “poor and unique macro-economic conditions”.

The British soft drinks group acquired the soft drinks arm of C&C for €249.2m in 2007 and owns Ballygowan, Club Orange, Mi-Wadi and Cidona.
