Engineers ‘vital’ for smart economy

ENGINEERS will be instrumental if Ireland is to become a “smart economy” and return to sustainable growth.

Engineers Ireland president Dr Jim Browne, speaking at the launch of Engineers Week 2009 which runs from February 9-13, said investment in R&D, the development of green energy as well as continuing investment in infrastructure were all critical areas that Ireland need to address.
