Man remanded over alleged fraud

THE managing director of a number of companies in Hungary has been remanded in custody by the High Court facing extradition on foot of a European arrest warrant for alleged fraud.

Sergeant James Kirwan, told Mr Justice Edwards that Zoltan Batori, of Hengersor, Hungary, faced charges in connection with the fraudulent conversion of 14 billion Hungarian Forints, the equivalent of €52m.Batori was remanded in custody to appear again in the High Court on January 14.
