Barry Group reports higher sales and profits of €2.5m

CORK-based wholesale food distribution firm Barry Group said pre-tax profit soared to €2.5m in the year to the end of January 2008 from €1.6m in the previous year.

Profit after tax increased 13% to €1.64m in the period while sales were up 7% to €205m.

The company’s man-aging director, Jim Barry said he is confident that the firm has structures in place to build its business next year. The group operates the Costcutter and Quik Pick brands.
