Esso in bid to make man buy station

ESSO Ireland has brought a court action to compel a man to honour a €5.3 million contract to buy a service station in Tallaght, Dublin.

The proceedings by Esso Ireland against John O’Connor, of Salzburg, Ardilea, Clonskeagh, Dublin, were admitted to the Commercial Court by Mr Justice Peter Kelly.

Esso is seeking orders requiring Mr O’Connor to comply with a contract of June 2006 for the purchase of Tallaght Service Station at Main Street, Tallaght and/or damages in lieu of an order for specific performance of the contract. The contract was for €5.3m and Mr O’Connor had paid a deposit of €400,000.
