Decision due on Lansdowne naming

THE naming rights for the new Lansdowne Road stadium — due to open in April 2010 — are expected to be finalised by the end of this year.

According to a source close to proceedings, a number of interested parties are in advanced talks with the Lansdowne Road Development Company (LRDC), the FAI and the IRFU over potential deal terms.

The source also said the current economic climate has not had a negative effect to date on perceived interest in a deal.
