CELTIC BOOKMAKERS will freeze staff pay and may cut jobs to cope with cooling economic growth, the Sunday Independent said, citing an internal memo to employees.

Of the company’s 62 outlets, 26 are operating at a loss, the newspaper said.

Celtic, which competes with companies including Paddy Power plc and Ladbrokes plc, closed one store recently and is reviewing bonuses for workers, the report said.
