A SUBSIDIARY of international banking giant, HSBC has closed its Irish operations with the loss of 41 jobs.

HFC Bank has branches in Dublin, Galway, Limerick and Kildare.

It said its immediate parent in Britain has undertaken a strategic review which recommended a total focus on the British market.
