Harrington wins blow to Paddy Power profit hopes

PADDY Power has lowered it annual profit forecast following losses on a string of unfavourable sporting results over the last few months.

Padraig Harrington’s two Major victories, Munster’s Heineken Cup win and the Champions League final line-up cost the Irish bookmarker €4 million.

It also said about two-thirds of the games at soccer’s European Championships went in favour of customers.
