Dairygold buys Macroom Mills

DAIRYGOLD Co-op has agreed to purchase the brands and goodwill of Macroom Mills for an undisclosed sum.

The mills, based in Macroom, Co Cork, will continue to manufacture its feed range for Dairygold on contract.

Dairygold agribusiness director Jim Woulfe said the development strengthens the co-op’s position in the agri-supplies market in the region by adding some excellent feed brands to its existing portfolio.

“It also gives Macroom Mills the support of Dairygold in marketing and selling its products and it will give our customers an even broader range of excellent animal feed products,” he said.

Dairygold said Macroom Mills staff will continue to work for that company, while members of the company’s sales staff will join Dairygold.
