Guide for first-time horse owners

A GENERAL guide for the first-time horse and pony owner has been compiled by the Teagasc Equine Advisory Team.

The brochure evolved in response to a request from Horse Sport Ireland for a publication to meet the requirements of the growing number of first-time horse and pony owners.

Head of Rural Development in Teagasc Gerry Scully said it is hoped the publication will provide owners with the basic knowledge to begin the adventure of horse ownership.

Teagasc director Gerry Boyle launched the brochure at Kildalton College.
