O’Donoghue to chair Fáilte Ireland

FORMER group chief executive of Waterford Wedgwood, Redmond O’Donoghue, has been appointed chairperson of Fáilte Ireland, the National Tourism Development Authority, by Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism Martin Cullen.

Mr O’Donoghue will replace Gillian Bowler, whose five-year term of office has ended.

The minister also re-appointed four outgoing board members for an additional term. These four are: Pádraig Ó Céidigh, Catherine Reilly, Eithne Scott-Lennon and Brian Hughes.

Mr Cullen thanked Ms Bowler for her dedication and commitment during her tenure as chair: “The outstanding performance of Irish tourism in recent years and its important contribution to the national economy speaks for itself and is a fitting testament to her involvement and commitment.”
