Car dealer denies rumours of going bust

ONE of the country’s largest car dealers has said it is sick and tired of false rumours that it is going bust and has released new accounts to show a strong trading performance.

Blackwater Motors in Fermoy, the trading name of Popular Motors Ltd, made an operating profit in 2007 and its turnover increased by 24% to €45.9 million.

Managing director Denis Murphy said in recent weeks speculation had intensified about its future but these rumours were without substance.
