PERNOD RICARD, the world’s second biggest drinks group, has appointed Alexandre Ricard chairman and chief executive of its Irish subsidiary, Irish Distillers.

Mr Ricard, 32, is the nephew of Patrick Ricard, current chairman and chief executive of the group.

He takes over from Paul Duffy, who has been promoted to chairman and chief executive of Pernod Ricard USA.
