Market again records slippage

THE Irish market yesterday closed another day in negative territory in line with other European bourses. The exchange was 47 points worse off at 5,920.

Financial heavyweight AIB dipped 18c to €12.40. Bank of Ireland added 1c to €7.60. Anglo was 9c worse off at €7.69 while Irish Life and Permanent declined 4c to €10.44.

Airlines led the positive movers as oil prices eased back. Ryanair jumped 18c to €3.02 while Aer Lingus gained 5c to €1.60. Aminex added 3c to 34c as the company announced a successful well test in Tanzania. Greencore finished 8c ahead at €3.29.
