Dáil motion over World Trade talks

FINE GAEL has announced it is to move a Dáil private members motion on the threats posed to Irish farming and agribusiness by the World Trade talks.

Dáil motion over World Trade talks

It is to be debated in the next few weeks.

Michael Creed, TD, the party’s spokesman on agriculture and food, said the motion would urge the Government to use any means possible to defeat the proposals of EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson at the Geneva talks. He said if Mr Mandelson was allowed to have his way, the Irish Government would be selling out Irish agriculture in a disastrous trade deal.
