PEOPLE living in the countryside with large gardens or farms could save about €100 per year in bin charges by recycling organic waste at home.

Recycle waste at home, urges IFA

That is according to IFA Countryside Committee chairman David Wilkinson, who said many families living in the countryside are spending substantial sums of money in disposing of organic waste in bins when it could be of benefit to a farm or garden. Organic waste can easily be recycled safely to be used on gardens or farms. Families that practice this could reduce the amount they put into their bin, he said.

Urging families to consider recycling waste at home, Mr Wilkinson said they could reduce the price of their waste collection in the process.
