An Post change programme

AN Post is implementing a major multi-million euro change programme in the collection and deliveries areas of its operations, according to its chief executive, Donal Connell, who was speaking at a breakfast briefing to members of Cork Chamber of Commerce yesterday.

An Post welcomes the challenges it faces and it is confident of being able to survive and thrive in a fully liberalised market, he said. However, the State will have to consider the full implications of the move towards liberalisation or opening up the postal service completely to the demands of the open market.
