Market makes moderate recovery

THE Irish exchange finished in positive territory yesterday along with other European bourses. The ISEQ was 51 points ahead at 6,155.

AIB was 16c better off at €13.35. Bank of Ireland increased 18c to €9.20. In negative territory Anglo and Irish Life and Permanent were 7c and 17c worse off at €8.61 and €10.55.

Construction giant CRH finished 53c stronger at €24.75. Kingspan gained 13c to €8.35 while Grafton added 7c to €5.30. McInerney moved 1c ahead to €1.22 as John Crowley was named managing director of its Irish homebuilding division. Newcourt added 4c to 83c after strong final year 2007 results with a 21% jump in pre-tax profits.
