MEMBERS of the Agricultural Consultants Association were urged by Forestry Minister Mary Wallace at their annual general meeting in Athlone last night to remind their clients to think safety.

She asked them to urge their clients to fulfil their health and safety obligations under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2006.

“Farming and construction sectors are two of the most dangerous sectors in Ireland. It is estimated 1,800 people are injured in the agricultural sector annually,” she said.
