Payment of EU farming schemes

PAYMENTS by cheque of EU-funded or co-funded schemes will no longer be permitted from October 16 next.

At present, farmers can choose to have their payments made by cheque or electronic transfer into their bank account. This situation will continue during the 2008 EU financial year which ends on October 15.

Farmers who do not have a bank account want the payments by cheque continued.
