Martin launches cattle breeding group

THE AI and milk-recording operations of Dairygold Co-Op, Kerry Group and Shinagh Estates (the former SWS Agri- businesses) have been brought together in one entity — the Munster Cattle Breeding Group.

Enterprise, Trade and Employment Minister Micheál Martin, who officially launched the group yesterday, said all the investment made by the Government in the development of the proper infrastructure to support the cattle breeding sector needs the support of increased farmer uptake of AI and milk-recording services.

“I hope that Munster Cattle Breeding will rise to the challenge in meeting that objective,” he said.
