Beef Forum membership announced

THE membership of the new Beef Forum was announced yesterday by Agriculture Minister Mary Coughlan.

Represented will be the IFA, ICMSA, ICSA, Macra na Feirme, ICOS, ICBF, Teagasc, Bord Bia, Enterprise Ireland, Meat Industry Ireland, the minister’s department and independent expert Paddy Moore. The forum will be chaired by Jim Beecher, assistant secretary general at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. It will have its first meeting this month.

Ms Coughlan said: “The industry must gear itself to evolving consumer tastes and be responsive to them. The forum provides those involved in the industry with the opportunity to track the best way forward.”
