Fraudulent email warnings from AIB

AIB has warned customers against a series of fraudulent emails targeting account holders. The emails claimed to come from AIB and asked online banking customers to give details such as personal access codes.

It also said customers’ access to their online account had expired and would only be granted again if the relevant information was given.

The bank said it never asks customers to enter their internet banking log-in details, or related information, via emails and has told customers not to reply to the sender, but to forward the mails to the bank’s security division at alert@aib.ie.
