‘Premium’ hotel bed shortages

DESPITE the huge growth in hotel building in Dublin over the past 10 years, the capital may not have enough quality rooms to cater for leading visitors to the city.

So says the new chairwoman of Dublin Tourism, Ann Riordan, who warned the closure of the Berkley Court and Jurys in Ballsbridge would affect the number of “premium” hotel beds available to the city.

Such scarcity has serious implications for the new conference centre in Dublin when it opens for business, she told The Sunday Business Post.
