THE Irish Stock Exchange staged a late rally yesterday evening to close the trading day down by just 10 points.

The market, which lost €3.2 billion in value on Tuesday, began trading more than 150 points lower following a poor overnight session on Asian markets.

The selloff in Irish shares continued for most of the morning with C&C plunging as much as 17% following a trading statement warning of a fall in cider sales in Britain.
