INDEPENDENT retailers expressed concern after it was confirmed another Ulster business had been gobbled up by a major British multiple.

The Kennedy family said it has sold its two Curley’s supermarkets in west Belfast and Dungannon to Sainsbury’s.

While the multi-million euro deal will create 100 jobs at the outlet in Belfast, the Northern Ireland Independent Retail Trade Association mourned the passing of another independent.
