Call for consideration on rural roads

DRIVERS on busy commuter routes are being urged by the Irish Farmers’ Association to be more considerate of traffic entering and exiting small rural roads.

Call for consideration on rural roads

The association’s countryside committee chairman, David Wilkinson, said the density of traffic on roads, especially close to the main urban centres, make it almost impossible for some drivers to enter and exit busy commuter routes safely during the harsh winter mornings.

Drivers slowing down to allow traffic ahead to enter and exit safely could prevent unnecessary frustrations and the consequential accidents that occur on a daily basis.

Mr Wilkinson said all drivers have a responsibility to be considerate road users.
