AFTER a turbulent week the Irish stock market bounced back yesterday thanks to a strong performance from the financials.

The fightback in the markets was led by the country’s two largest banks, AIB and Bank of Ireland, which climbed 89c and 87c to €13.84 and €9.77.

Anglo-Irish also performed well tacking on 45.9c to €9.38 and Irish Life and Permanent added 53.7c to €11.80.
