Horticultural graduate praised

TAOISEACH Bertie Ahern yesterday praised the achievement of Máire Hurley of Innishannon, Co Cork, a horticultural science graduate.

He presented her with the Teagasc College of Amenity Horticulture medallion for the best performance on the horticultural course at the Botanic Gardens, Dublin, and also with the Student of the Year award of the Institute of Technology, Blanchardstown.

Mr Ahern was speaking at the presentation of awards and certificates to graduates of Teagasc amenity horticultural courses.
