Miscanthus grants welcomed

MISCANTHUS growers have welcomed the payment of establishment grants by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.

Spokesman Ronan Madigan said growers had stressed to the department how essential it was to pay the growers who have financial commitments to meet.

Meanwhile, JHM Crops is to hold 8pm information meetings at two Co Limerick venues — Devon Hotel, Templeglantine on November 21 and Woodlands Hotel, Adare, on November 22 — to discuss growing miscanthus with farmers.
