Marts: The supply of bullocks to the factories increased to more than 20,000 head after the processors increased prices by up to 5c/kg (2p/lb) last week.

Factory paysheet returns show that individual factories paid between 1c/kg and 5c/kg more for R4L bullocks increasing the average price to 280c/kg (100p/lb). Heifer prices rose by the same margin to an average of 285c/kg (102p/lb) for R4L grade.

Less than half of the processors paid the average of 280c/kg (100p/lb) for R4L bullocks.
