Farmers urged: ‘think farm plastics’

Michael Slattery, chairman, Irish Farm Films Producers Group (IFFPG), said that farmers use an increasing amount of silage bale wrap and pit covers, which it collects every year and recycles at the keenest cost.

He said IFFPG would like to see more recycling and urged all interested parties to contact the company. Plastic recycling costs must be competitive with existing charges, though, to ensure there is no increase in farm plastic collection costs for farmers.
