Almac invest in new US facility

A NORTHERN Ireland pharmaceutical company is to invest £50m (€70m) in a new North American headquarters facility based in south-east Pennsylvania.

The move by Almac will create at least 262 new jobs including software development and laboratory specialists within three years, and retain 495 existing positions.

Allen McClay, chair of the company, said the availability of a skilled workforce was a major factor in the decision, as was the support from the state authorities.
