Barchester pays out €521m dividend

BARCHESTER, the nursing home chain owned by Irish investors, paid out dividends of £363 million (€521m) in 2006.

Barchester pays out €521m dividend

Barchester, which operates 161 nursing and care homes in Britain, is owned by Irish investors including John Magnier, JP McManus and Dermot Desmond and is chaired by Denis Brosnan.

The dividend payout follows a restructuring of the business into two companies — one responsible for operating its care facilities and another that owns the actual properties.
