Lifestyle Sports to expand into Europe

STAFFORD Group’s Lifestyle Sports has announced a €150 million investment strategy to make it one of the largest branded sports retailers in Europe by 2012.

Acquisition of the Czech Republic sports retail chain City Sport, including 22 stores and 9,290 sq m of retail space, is the first step in the group’s agenda for mainland Europe.

This is phase one of a €100 million expansion of Lifestyle Sports into central and eastern Europe, which will see the company open retail outlets in five different states.
