Dunnes expands network with a Citywest store

DUNNES Stores has continued the expansion of its store network here by opening a new store in the Citywest Shopping Centre in Saggart, Co Dublin, and creating 200 jobs in the process.

Situated just off the main Blessington Road, the store — the company’s first in the area — covers more than 76,700sq ft and has a large grocery (including the company’s new Simply Better food range by chef Neven Maguire), textiles and homeware offering.

The store is open from 8.30am to 10pm from Monday to Wednesday; 8.30am to midnight on Thursday and Friday; 8.30am to 10pm on Saturday; and 10am to 8pm on Sunday.

It has a free car park with 675 spaces, and is likely to benefit directly from a proposed extension to the Luas line within the next three years.

“We are delighted to be opening this store in Citywest. We have received a warm welcome and a lot of support from the people of Citywest for the creation of 200 new jobs in the area as well as opening a brand new and very spacious store carrying a large range of products across the grocery, textiles and homeware sectors,” said Killian Martin, grocery manager at the store.

Dunnes Stores operates 112 shops in the republic — as well as 24 north of the border, seven in England, four in Scotland and five in Spain — and employs more than 18,000 people.
