IRISH marketing company Pigsback.com is to launch in Canada in a move that could see it testing the waters for the US market.

Pigsback.com has joined an exclusive partnership with Bell New Ventures for its launch this autumn.

The company’s founder, Michael Dwyer, said: “Pigsback has doubled in scale in the last two years with our British and now Canada launch. It’s a busy and demanding time for all of the team.

“That an Irish internet company would be selected for such a significant launch by a company of the scale and reputation of Bell in Canada is very exciting.”

Mr Dwyer did not rule out an American launch but said it is not something they are dwelling on just yet at Pigsback.

“The launch of Pigsback.com in Canada is a big step for us in developing our business internationally and potentially defines a direction for the US market, giving us a model for faster international growth,” he added.

Pigsback.com creates online consumer interactions for brands in Ireland and Britain and sees the launch into Canada as a big move.

“We are very pleased to be working with Bell New Ventures to bring Pigsback.com to Canadian consumers,” said Mr Dwyer.

In Ireland, Pigsback.com said its revenues equate to about 27% of the total Irish online display marketing spend and it counts the majority of blue-chip advertisers as clients.

Pigsback.com launched in Britain in 2005 and employs more than 100 people.
