LIVE exports from Ireland are back to normal after a temporary hold imposed by the French authorities, according to the Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association.

The association’s president, Jackie Cahill, said the Department of Agriculture and Food had confirmed to him that the French veterinary authorities were happy with the situation and that normal arrangements for the vital live exports were now fully operational.

Figures given to the ICMSA show that in the year to date about 138,000 cattle were exported, with virtually all being routed through French ports
