Ekman to become Elan advisor

PHARMACEUTICAL company Elan has announced its president of research and development, Dr Lars Ekman, will make the transition from his current role to become an advisor as a member of the board of directors from the end of this year.

Dr Ekman will continue to chair the science and technology committee, which provides long-term strategic guidance and input to Elan’s management on matters relating to the company’s research platform and portfolio.

Dr Ekman joined Elan in January 2001 after holding a number of senior executive positions in the pharmaceutical industry.
