Vodafone increases customer base

VODAFONE Ireland increased its customer base by 10,000 to 2.2 million during the three months to the end of June, as group revenue hit £8.3 billion (€12.3bn).

Despite this the average monthly revenue per user in Ireland dropped by almost 7% to €45.40, compared with the same period last year, due to increased competition in the market.

Vodafone said these results come at a time when its customers are increasing their use of mobile phones but are paying lower prices.
