Airtricity doubles energy capacity

RENEWABLE energy firm Airtricity saw its generating capacity increase from 177MW to 383MW in its last financial year.

The company — which is 51% owned by the NTR Group — saw its value rise to almost

€1.25 billion in the 12 months up to the end of March; compared to a total of €550 million the previous year. It is aiming to increase its international operational generating capacity to around 1,000MW by the early part of next year.
