Investec has said that it will look at the implications of owning two specialist mortgage providers in the Irish market in the coming weeks.

The financial services group is close to finalising a £283 million (€418m) takeover of Kensington Group, which owns the Start specialist mortgage provider here.

Investec also co-owns Nua Homeloans another player in the Irish specialist mortgage market.
