Market again in retreat mode

THE market ended in negative territory for a third day in a row yesterday dropping 11 points to 9,384.

AIB dipped 15c to €20.80. Bank of Ireland was down 13c d at €15.17. Irish Life and Permanent was 20c lower at €18.70 while Anglo gained 1c to €15.26.

Other main movers included C&C falling 42c to €10.73. The Magners producer reported a buyback of a further 300,000 shares on Friday. FBD Holdings shed 58c to €32.40. The firm released a trading statement for the first six months of the year in line with market expectations and felt confident it would meet full-year profit estimates.
