Market climbs back strongly

THE ISEQ continued its recent revival yesterday with CRH, Ryanair and Elan driving the exchange forwards.

The Dublin bourse closed 154.51 points higher at 9,659.62.

The financial sector recovered some of its recent losses with AIB adding 31c to €21.63 while Bank of Ireland moved 22c up to rest at €16.22. Anglo Irish and Irish Life & Permanent both gained, up 19c and 46c.

Ryanair jumped 18c to €5.11 on the back of large trading volumes. CRH surged 69c to €36.95. Elan rose 69c to 15.84.
